Singer-Songwriter Andrew Marlin will play in Southern Village

Tuesday, June 15th, 2010

Andrew Marlin is an extremely talented songwriter, originally from Warrenton, NC, and is a true lover of all things music. Armed with an acoustic guitar, Andrew manages to seamlessly transition from one genre to the next, while maintaining his own unique sound. Traditional and modern folk, jazz, bluegrass and R&B all become one through his voice and strings.

In addition to playing solo, Andrew also plays his original tunes with Emily Frantz as the duo Mandolin Orange. The two tour NC and beyond playing their roots music–original acoustic tunes inspired by folk music’s great pickers, performers and storytellers.   Andrew mentions Neil Young, Bob Dylan, Regina Spektor and Eddie Vedder among his many varied influences.

Go to www.myspace.com/mandolinorange for a taste of Andrew’s music in the Mandolin Orange duo.

PROGRAMMING NOTE:  Andrew Marlin graciously agreed to step in and play on this date, replacing the originally scheduled Molly Bancroft, who was forced to cancel for personal reasons.  We apologize if this causes you any inconvenience, but we know that you’ll enjoy this show!
