Checks should be made out to MAPS (Maine Adoption Placement Services.)  Be sure to specify “Baby Home Benefit” in the memo area.  If you include your address on your check, MAPS will send you a tax receipt.

JUG BAND JUMP MUSIC:

SKEEDADDLE TO PERFORM IN SOUTHERN VILLAGE

Southern Village is pleased to present Skeedaddle on Sunday, August 23rd at 7:00 on the Village Green in Southern Village.  Skeedaddle is a four piece acoustic string band that plays 20s and 30s swing, Hawaiian, jump blues, jug band and other roots Americana music with the humor and intensity of a vaudevillian volleyball troupe.

Band members Anastasia Maddox, Steven Fishman, Fred Levine and Hugh Crumley sing and play a wide variety of instruments, ranging from the traditional, such as guitar, mandolin, bass, and banjo, to those less commonly heard such as the ukulele, along with the more offbeat such as washboard, kazoo, mouth trumpet and others even more obscure.

Come out to have fun and hear the sounds influenced by the music of Cab Calloway and Etta James, the antics of the Marx Brothers, and others too numerous to mention.  Whether you like to dance to live music, or just tap your feet, this is your opportunity for a unique experience!

The concert will take place at 7:00 on Sunday, August 9th on the Village Green in Southern Village.  Admission is free; bring a picnic and your lawn chair or blanket to help you relax and enjoy the music.

The Southern Village Summer Music Series continues through September 13th with concerts every Sunday evening at 7:00.  There is a small admission fee for several of our concerts, but most have no cover charge.  Please visit us online at southernvillage.com for a complete listing of the Music Series, with additional information posted each week.
