ARMAND & BLUESOLOGY
TO PLAY IN SOUTHERN VILLAGE 2009 SUMMER MUSIC SERIES
IN 10th ANNUAL ‘RUSSIAN BABY HOME BENEFIT’ FESTIVAL
Get ready to have a rocking great time, as Market Street at Southern Village announces an outdoor concert by local favorites Armand & Bluesology on Sunday, September 13th at 7:00.
The music will include original blues, swing, rock & roll and just about everything in between. In addition to Armand Lenchek, Bluesology is made up of Will McFarlane, Danny Gotham, Tony Starr Bowman, Jim Henderson, Cal Johnson, and George Hindenach. A “Spoonful of Nomads” will appear also, featuring the horns sections from the bands Spoonful of Soul and The Nomads. Also appearing will be the Bluesolojettes, Cathy Emrick, Janet McFarlane & Becky Lenchek. Ron Stutts, Radio Impresario from WHCL AM 1360, will be the Master of Ceremonies.
Armand and Becky Lenchek are holding this benefit in conjunction with Maine Adoption Placement Services (MAPS), to raise funds for the Kamensk Uralski Baby Home in Russia. The Baby Home houses about 60 infants & toddlers waiting for their “forever families”. The Lencheks adopted their son from the home in 1998, and hope to raise awareness of the happy option of adoption.
There will be no cover charge, but donations to the orphanage are encouraged, and will be facilitated by a large receptacle at the concert, or can be mailed to the Lencheks. Checks should be made out to MAPS (Maine Adoption Placement Services.) Be sure to specify “Baby Home Benefit” in the memo area. If you include your address on your check, MAPS will send you a tax receipt.
For additional information about the benefit and about donating to this worthy and heartwarming cause, visit the benefit website, www.armand.hpw.com, call 919-913-2627, or contact Armand at armand@hpw.com or Becky at blenchek@aol.com.
Location: This open seating, outdoor concert will be held on the stage at the Village Green in Southern Village. Guests are invited to bring lawn chairs or blankets for seating, and can bring a picnic or purchase food from any of the Southern Village food establishments. Children are invited to attend.
Directions to the Village Green in Southern Village: Head south from Chapel Hill on US 15-501. After the Chapel Hill/Carrboro Bypass, make a right at the 3rd light into Southern Village. Follow the circle around until you see the big covered stage right in the center.
